Welcome to the Student Union Building! The SUB is unlike any other building on campus, and so is our staff.
As a department within Student Affairs, the SUB has proudly served the UNM community since 1959. More than just a building, the SUB is the living room of campus—a place where students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members come together to connect, learn, and belong with a strong sense of community. As the most utilized building on campus, welcoming more than 10,000 visitors each day, we are committed to creating an environment where everyone feels welcome.
The Student Union is more than a destination—it is a place where students can grow, develop, and succeed. We employ hundreds of student employees each year, providing meaningful work experience that builds leadership, communication, customer service, and professional skills that prepare them for success beyond graduation. We are committed to investing in our student employees through ongoing professional development opportunities, mentorship, and scholarships that recognize their hard work while supporting their academic goals.
In addition to supporting student employment, the SUB creates opportunities for students to connect outside the classroom through fun, engaging programs and events held throughout the year. From campus traditions and entertainment to opportunities to meet new people and build community, our programming helps make the college experience more memorable and meaningful.
As a building funded primarily by student fees, everything we do is centered on serving students.
